Karen Carbone spent a decade running hair wrap stands on the Ocean City boardwalk. Ten summers, thousands of tourists, and a steady parade of the most interesting characters the Eastern Shore had to offer.
She learned something there that turned out to be the whole business: people don’t remember the schedule. They remember the moment somebody made them feel like the day was theirs.
Karen brought that to the DMV, set up shop in Silver Spring, and started booking “a bit of the beach” for local parties. Word moved. Services were added. The team grew. Today Carbone casts entertainment for everything from a fourth birthday in a backyard to a thousand-person corporate gala downtown.

Karen has always been the crazy, artsy, perpetual-Peter-Pan sort. As a kid she couldn’t decide between veterinarian and gypsy, and the jury is arguably still out. She holds degrees in Theatre and Italian, which by all rights should have made her an opera singer — instead she paid for college delivering singing telegrams.
She started Carbone with a card table’s worth of supplies and a decade of boardwalk instincts. Twenty years on, she’s still the one who can look at a room and tell you exactly what it needs.
A.J. got his start producing flash mobs around Baltimore and DC — a tax preparer with an Indiana University performing arts degree and thousands of filed returns behind him. Karen met him once and knew it was only a matter of time.
He runs the bookkeeping, contracts, insurance, and payroll, then turns around and casts everything dancing, singing, and theatre-related. Off the clock he’s breaking down the newest country line dances with his wife, Rachel.
Marisol is first in to prep an event and last to put the equipment away. She runs the costume racks, the mascot room, the games room, and the crafts office — and then shows up on site to airbrush, bedazzle glitter tattoos, and run the craft and hair stations. She has been known to sneak into a mascot suit.

Gary is the resident artist, graphic designer, and media guru. Posters, social content, event graphics, video — if it’s something you look at, he made it. He’s been drawing since the crayon era and hasn’t found a reason to stop.
His work doesn’t just support the entertainment; it sets the tone before the first guest walks in. A well-designed invitation tells people what kind of night they’re walking into. A good reel tells a planner what we can do faster than any pitch deck. Gary handles both, and everything in between.

Pittsburgh raised, Columbia MD based, musical theatre degree from Catholic University, married in Disney, and a die-hard Capitals fan who cheered professionally for them. She can absolutely Rock the Red.
